The Kuwaiti newspaper, Al-Rai, revealed that the Speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly, Marzouq Al-Ghanem, was referred for investigation due to his celebration of the outcome of the recent elections, according to Al-Ghanim himself.
Al-Ghanim told the newspaper: I have just been informed of my transfer to the Public Prosecution, against the backdrop of some gatherings and celebrations that took place after the election results were announced, and I will be the first to comply and the last to disagree.
In turn, the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida said that the government opened the files of the parliamentary assemblies that followed the announcement of the results of the last elections on December 5, and referred them to a number of deputies to the Public Prosecution Office.
Al-Jarida learned, from its sources, that the Ministry of Interior made this referral for the reason that these representatives violated health requirements during their coordination meetings for consultations regarding the elections for the Presidency of the National Assembly, its office and parliamentary committees, and the events they organized after their victory, indicating that the Public Prosecution will address the National Assembly to lift their immunity later. .
