The Lebanese military judiciary issues prison sentences and fines for the shooters on New Year's Eve



 The Lebanese military judiciary issued prison sentences for a period of 6 months, along with financial fines, against 33 people for shooting during New Year's celebrations, in violation of the provisions of the law and security instructions that prohibit this behavior in light of the grave danger it poses to lives and property.


The National Media Agency (the official Lebanese News Agency) stated that the military court headed by Brigadier General Mounir Shehadeh issued 33 sentences of imprisonment for a period of 6 months and a fine of 6 million Lebanese pounds, in addition to the fine of the convicts also the price of the weapon used in the shooting, and depriving them of obtaining a license A lifetime weapon.


During the last week of last year, the Lebanese army and police demanded not to shoot in celebration of the New Year, in order to preserve public safety and enforcement of the laws, especially in light of the precedents of the dangerous effects of the phenomenon of indiscriminate shootings, including the fall of stray bullets on the runways of Rafic Hariri Airport The international airport is located in Beirut, and in the places of landing and take-off of aircraft and near them, from the surrounding areas.
